WORSHIP & THE WORD
“Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.”
Ephesians 5:19
WHY WE SING
More than a performance
The Hosanna Choir values the spiritual preparation behind every song. Prayer, teamwork and musical practice come together to help create worship that inspires the congregation.
Read Ephesians 5:19 and consider how singing can encourage both the person beside you and the congregation. In a choir, listening matters as much as singing. Paying attention to other voices helps the group find a shared rhythm and gives the words room to be heard.
If you are exploring choir ministry, start by listening to the words of a hymn or worship song. Notice what it says about God and how the music supports the message. You can bring that reflection into prayer or use it to start a conversation about the kind of worship that helps you grow in faith.

YOUR NEXT STEP
From interest to involvement
Start with a conversation and confirm the latest arrangements with the church.
When you get in touch, tell the team what you enjoy singing and whether you have sung with others before. If you are unsure of your voice part, say so. Ask whether you can observe a rehearsal, how new singers learn their parts and what materials are available to practise between gatherings.
Before committing, talk through what participation would look like for you. Ask how often the choir rehearses, when it sings in services and whom to contact if you need to miss a practice. If transport, work or family commitments affect your availability, bring that up during the first conversation so you can make an informed decision.
If your next step is simply to visit NCHIC, the Plan Your Visit page explains what to expect on Sunday. You can meet the church community first and follow up about the choir when you feel ready.
